FIREWALLS
A firewall blocks all traffic that is unauthorized access to your computer via the internet. A vast majority of people that use a computer at home would use a software firewall that is set up through either a computer or an automatic update.

Computer viruses can be harmfull you computer. They are created by programmers and hackers that feel disenfranchised with major companies such as Microsoft and have been create these viruses that can infect and can even destroy computer hardware.
SPYWARE
Spyware is something to keep an eye on. Spyware can infect the main performance of your computer and can be very easily undetected.

E-Commerce Enables administration to manage a range of products or services for the consumer.
Examples of of E-Commerce can be found on websites like "Ebay" and "Amazon". With Ebay E-Commerce Enables the online sale of items second hand. On Amazon E-Commerce enables the sale of brand new items as well as the sale of second hand as well.

Information Archittecture
The organisation of functionality and content into a structure that enables users to navigate intuitively does not happen by chance. Organisations have to recognise the importance of information architecture or they run the risk of creating great content and functionality that users can not locate.

My Character WFM 3/5/07
In todays class we had to create a story in groups of threes. In my group there was myself, Luke and Darren. My character is called "Lano" that is a fictional character. That runs a transport company around the world. Dillon one of the other characters is a spy, that works for a government agent Joseph. There is a huge conspiracy developing and this is what draws the three characters together due to their ocupations.
In todays class we continued developing the type of world our characters would live in.

Today in class, we learnt how to do the HTML code for myspace and how to change the design of the page. To fit our characters personally and to follow the design set by the design brief. In which we had handed up in the previous lesson the week before hand.

Copyright laws
Today in Web studies, We discussed Copyright.
I learnt that if i design a page for a company and im an employee that the copyright does not belong to myself, but to the company. But if i am contracted i would infact be the holder of the copyright. I had already known about the copyright laws for music and the arts. It is all very interesting though.

Virtual online identities
There are some interactive, Virtual community websites on the Internet today. That include
Second life, habbo.com etc. Even websites like my space and msn that even though not interactive. They consist of people world wide creating profiles, that sometimes can be misleading or deceiving. This is because that the person who created their own profile. Wanted to change their personality or their physical appearence.
My personal view is that if someone wants to create an alter ego it is fine with me.

graphics software
Graphics software or image editing software are programs associated with graphics software. They are part of a collection of programs that enable a person to manipulate visual images on a computer. Graphics can be classified into two categories vector graphics and rastor graphics. It is recommend that both are familiar with before learning how computer software can manipulate these images. Vector graphics animation can be described as a series of mathematical transformations that are applied in sequence to one or more shapes in a scene. Raster graphics animation works in a similar fashion to film-based animation, where a series of still images produces the illusion of continuous movement.

Today in class i had to choose three websites and compare the reliability of the information by the process of cross checking.
The 1969 Moon landing

While searching google for "moon landings". I found this site and others like it to reinforce thoery. There are professional statements to back this thoery and stange missing evidence.
I feel that there is a vast amount of evidence and to a degree it can be believable.

While searching google for "cold war". I found this site that is a ".gov" URL. The information found on this site has been cross checked with other sites. I feel that th original information is correct.

2nd UPDATE
Welcome back
Whiling just beginning my course. I have learnt about Web 2.0 and this is what i understand of it.
Web 2.0 is an internet application. That engages anyone with internet access with the ability to contribute to a site. It also evolves software so it can work on all kinds of devices and not just computers. As well as being user friendly making it simple to navigate interfaces.

My name is Mark
I'm 19 years old, i live in Sunbury, Victoria, Australia. I am Currently a student at Victoria University. Studying certificate IV in multimedia. I want to aspire to go on to the advanced degree. Than on to my masters, in an ambition to further my qualifications for the future. I am a person who is interested in Listening and playing music. I play the following instruments in my spare time. Drums, Guitar and Bass Guitar. The Music i like is mostly Crowded House, any good Australian rock and other bands like the Beatles etc. My hobbies also include Presenting my radio program every Wednesday Night, at 3NRG radio. Buying vinyl and Compact Disc Albums and Singles, and checking out the local gig guides. I have also got an ever growing Dvd Collection. I am the type of person who is always determined to try my best at everything i attempt to do. I like to watch TV, I will read every now and then and i like just putting on my ipod at night and just going walks.
In my family i have my parents, older sister and younger brother. Even though i normally get along with all of them, they can be annoying at times. For part time work, i am employed at the Sunbury BigW store. Where twice a week, i stack the shelves for my night fill position.
